Our program provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient services for seniors, adults, adolescents and children at these locations for mental health services.

Inpatient Services

Inpatient services range from medication management to relapse prevention programs. Support and family involvement are encouraged. To provide the best care in a comfortable setting, patients are grouped with others of similar age and needs.

At HCA Virginia, we provide treatment for conditions such as psychosis, affective disorders, personality disorders and dual diagnoses (chemical dependency in conjunction with a psychiatric disorder). Services include detoxification, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), inpatient adult psychiatric treatment and more.

Adult and Geriatric Services

Our adult and geriatric services include acute inpatient treatment for individuals over the age of 18 years with a primary behavioral or mental health issue. Our individualized care plans prioritize safety and crisis stabilization, promote patient empowerment and include collaboration with outpatient treatment providers. We encourage active involvement from the individual's support systems.

Our inpatient treatment team involves medical professionals from multiple disciplines. Together, they provide a wide range of services, including:

  • Medication management
  • Supportive medical care
  • Group therapy
  • Nursing education groups
  • Psycho-education groups
  • Activities therapy
  • Discharge planning

Child and Adolescent Services

Tucker Pavilion treats children ages 5-11 and adolescents ages 12-17 with emotional and behavioral health problems. Our services include inpatient stabilization for young people who are challenged with an acute behavioral health issue. There are separate and distinct programs for each age group. As with adults, our individualized care plans for this younger group make safety and crisis stabilization top priorities.

We collaborate with outpatient treatment providers and emphasize patient and family education to help everyone involved better understand emotional health issues and symptom management. Our psychiatrists and staff members consider family involvement a critical component for a young person's successful recovery. Because our treatment team is drawn from a variety of medical disciplines, we're able to provide extensive services, such as:

  • Medication management
  • Supportive medical care
  • Therapeutic milieu (environment) setting
  • Behavior modification
  • Group therapy
  • Nursing education groups
  • Psycho-education groups
  • Activities therapy
  • Pet therapy
  • Family discharge planning sessions
