HCA Virginia can help you access more clinical trials than any other cancer center in Virginia. Trials offer cancer patients new, better and innovative ways for curing cancer or reducing the impact of cancer treatment.
Your First Choice for Clinical Trials and Research
As part of our mission to continually offer the most advanced services available, HCA Virginia offer qualified patients a variety of opportunities to participate in clinical research trials. Talk with your physician, who will work with our research nurse coordinators to determine whether you qualify and discuss the nature of the trials with you and your family. HCA's Sarah Cannon Research Institute offers hundreds of clinical trials, locally in collaboration with Virginia Cancer Institute.
Clinical trials at HCA Virginia continually change as we also provide options from The Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, The Gynecologic Oncology Group, The National Surgical Adjuvant Breast, Bowel Project and numerous surgical companies. We regularly offer trials related to:
- Breast cancer
- Gastrointestinal cancers
- Gynecologic cancers
- Lung cancer
- Lymphoma
- Melanoma
- Prostate cancer
- Head and neck cancers
- Partial breast irradiation
- Cancer survivorship
- Benefits of additional testing
Sarah Cannon Research Center
Even if you don't remember the old-time country comedienne with the price tag still hanging from her hat, the woman who brought Minnie Pearl to life, Sarah Cannon, makes a significant contribution to cancer research. Before her death, Cannon established a namesake Nashville-based organization that sponsors many leading pharmaceutical trials and other cancer-related research in which HCA Virginia frequently participates.
