Our neuroscience specialists offer the quick response, clinical expertise and extensive experience you need to treat stroke, brain or nervous system conditions and improve your quality of life. In addition, HCA Virginia continually invests in the technology that gives you the benefit of the latest treatments for stroke, brain and nervous system conditions.

We Invest for Your Health

Our recent $100 million expansion at Henrico Doctors' Hospital brought the Mid-Atlantic region's first intraoperative MRI (iMRI) the only one in Central Virginia to Richmond, where it joins a unique suite of neuroscience services including stereotactic radiosurgery with the Gamma Knife Perfexion® and if needed, targeted radiation therapy with the Trilogy™ system. Our neurosurgeons may use the iMRI during surgery in our operating suite dedicated to spine tumor removal, which means our experts can locate previously inoperable tumors and more completely remove them.

Advanced Technology plus Top-Quality, Caring Clinicians

At HCA Virginia, our clinical staff of neuroscience physicians, operating room teams and nursing staff work exclusively with brain and nervous system conditions and stroke care. Our physicians perform all types of neurosurgeries and know the value of each option. You benefit from their familiarity with the complete spectrum of treatments. They recognize which approaches best fit your particular condition and customize a care program specifically for you. Regardless of the variety of specialists or services you need, you'll also enjoy the convenience of getting all your care in one place within our coordinated network of comprehensive facilities.

  • Trilogy™ targeted radiation therapy - A treatment program to help prevent tumors from recurring after surgery by effectively controlling cell growth
  • Tumor embolization - Cuts off blood flow to a tumor before surgery, which means shorter surgical procedures, less blood loss and reduced need for transfusion - this is part of the neurovascular center/interventional neuroradiology
